November 7, 2010 - Multi-Pokes!

So I just noticed that I say "so" too much. I'll try to cut down on that.

Anyway, today we finally took care of a major cause of Kay's back pains; a sewing desk that's too short for her. 50$ worth of lumber and about an hour to cut & screw together brought to bear a riser for kay's sewing machine that is, after also screwing it to a stud in the wall, not only at a much healthier height for her, but also is absolutely immobile. She got the first decent day's work in since she hurt her back/hip hyper-swimming about a week ago.

On the other hand, I finally full combo'd Max 300 AND my first real expert 11 ITG chart; Xuxa. Also I noticed that people are multi-POKE!'ing... as if to emphasize that they -really- want the item we didn't have in stock they'll submit half a dozen POKE!'s for it. Oh well, it's still better than nothing!

November 5, 2010 - POKES!

So yesterday Kay had the awesome idea of putting a button in the shopping cart page that lets people "POKE!" us to tell us when they wanted to buy something that we were out of stock on. After a much longer time than it should have taken, I got it set up and implemented onto the site.

Luckily for me, people are actually using it! It'll help us find out what people want us to stock better without us having to keep everything marked as 'in stock' and do random one-off's when something that's not actually in stock gets ordered!
It was a system that worked, but it was really stressful on Kay to have to stop a hoodie she's working on (or pile of hats, or whatever) and spend 40 minutes on a single hat start to finish. This way we get more direct interaction with you, our customers, let's us know what's popular, and makes for more happy times here at home ^^

November 2, 2010 - CopyCats

So we've noticed a little bit that people are starting to try to mimic our patterns, and we have mixed feelings on that. On one side it's nice to see that people love our designs so much that they're going out of their way to change theirs to match. It means we've had some good ideas and implemented them with outstanding quality.
There's always the less happy feelings about it too, which I'm sure everyone can understand as well. In the end
we know where the ideas came from and that's good enough for us ^^

Overall we're super happy about the reception that Kay's designs get not only online but locally as well. Look forward to many cool new designs over the next few months. Also look for us at Otafest Lite vendor rooms on November 13th, 2010, at the University of Calgary.
